Water Damage

The difference between “flood damage” and “water damage
To begin, we need to make a distinction between “flood damage” and “water damage.” For the sake of our discussion, “flood damage” refers to catastrophic flooding due to an event such as a flash flood, an overflowing river or storm surge. Flood waters enter the structure from the outside. “Water damage” will refer to water that enters your property from within the structure. Whether or not there is coverage under an insurance policy is dependent upon the policy and the nature of the event.
